BEIJING, March 15 -- A cell phone message complaint platform is to open soon to provide a new channel for consumers' complaints, China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce announced on the eve of March 15, the World Consumer Rights Day. The platform will have a consumer complaint hotline with the help of local telecommunication departments. The platform has a unified number, 12315, across the nation. In addition to receiving complaints, the platform will also issue warnings on consumption, the administration said. "To better protect consumers' rights, the government should lay the emphasize on prevention, instead of dealing with problems afterwards," said Wang Dongfeng, an official with the administration. The platform will work together with local public security, quality supervision and commodity price bureaus, to achieve information sharing and supervision collaboration. |
