ISLAMABAD, March 18 -- Pakistan has conveyed concern to the United States over drone attacks on the tribal regions along the Afghan border, said foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday. The U.S has agreed to address Pakistan's concern over the drone attacks, Qureshi told a press conference in Islamabad. "Pakistan also stressed the need for review of policy on these attacks," said Qureshi. Qureshi also said that the second round of talks between Pakistan and the United States is due to held on May 6 and 7 this year. The U.S. force has recently intensified drone strikes inside Pakistan from Afghanistan for fear that Pakistan could not eliminate the hideouts of al-Qaeda and Taliban militants on its soil. Earlier, the New York Times had reported that the United States was considering whether to expand its covert war in Pakistan by striking the southwest province of Balochistan. |
