(ECNS) -- "We welcome the remarks from President of Honduras Xiomara Castro. The fact that 181 countries in the world have established diplomatic relations with China on the basis of the One-China principle fully demonstrates that establishing diplomatic relations with China is the correct choice in line with the historical trend and the trend of the times," Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Wednesday.

"China is willing to develop friendly and cooperative relations with all countries in the world, including Honduras, on the basis of the One-China principle," Wang said at a regular press conference.

Honduran President said on Tuesday she asked the country's foreign minister to open official relations with China.
