CHICAGO, May 29 -- At least two people were killed and eight others were wounded in separate shootings in Chicago, the third largest city in the United Stats, on Thursday night and in the early hours of Friday, Chicago police said. One man was killed and three others injured in a possible drive-by shooting early Friday morning in West Garfield Park and the injured were taken to hospitals. Police at the scene said they heard up to 20 shots fired. Another person was killed in a shooting incident that occurred early Friday morning in the southeastern side of the city. The Chicago Fire Department also reported that five people were shot in separate shootings Thursday night at the southern side of the city. The five victims were all taken to local hospitals in serious-to-critical condition. Chicago police were investigating the shooting incidents, according to the Chicago Police Department. |
