CHENGDU, July 3 -- Thirty-one people who were wounded in a deadly bus blaze in SW China are still hospitalized nearly a month after the fire, the Sichuan provincial health department said Friday. The 31 are receiving treatment in four hospitals in the provincial capital Chengdu. Among them, 18 are in serious condition, a department spokesman said. Hospital sources said at least seven people are in critical condition. A 62-year-old unemployed Zhang Yunliang, a native from Suzhou City of eastern Jiangsu Province who temporarily lived in Chengdu, poured and lit a gasoline on a bus in Chengdu on June 5. The fire killed 27 people and injured 74. Zhang was burnt to death at the rear of the bus after setting the fire, police said Thursday. |
