AMMAN, Oct. 22 -- Two new private Jordanian satellite TV channels will start transmitting in late January. The two channels, one for news bulletins and the other for dramas, cultural programs, sports and social issues, will hit the airwaves on Jan. 31, 2010, the Arab Telemedia Group, which will launch the channels, announced at a press conference Thursday. With the two channels, the number of private Jordanian satellite TV channels will rise to 11, according to the Jordan Media City (JMC). There are more than 200 Jordanian and non-Jordanian satellite TV channels transmitting from Jordan, according to the JMC. |
