BAGHDAD, Dec. 10 -- An American soldier died on Thursday in a non-combat related incident in Iraq, the U.S. military said. A Multi-National Division-Baghdad soldier died after wounds received in a non-combat related incident, a brief military statement said without providing more details about how and where the incident occurred. An investigation about the incident is underway, it said, adding the name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The latest death brings the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to about 4,367 since the breakout of the U.S.-led war on Iraq in 2003, according to media account based on Pentagon figures. |
