BEIJING, Dec. 24 -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Thursday urged authorities to strengthen party building in the country's colleges and universities in order to train reliable successors to the socialist cause. Xi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks when attending an annual meeting in Beijing on party building in colleges and universities. Colleges and universities are "high grounds where talents gather together," Xi said. He urged for stepped-up efforts to improve management of colleges and universities, and to admit more outstanding intellectuals and students to the CPC. |
