HARBIN, Northeast China, Feb. 26 -- China edged out Finland 4-3 to set up a championship clash with Canada in the women's ice hockey at the 24th Winter Universiade here on Thursday. Leveled at 3-3, China had a strong scoring to give their rival a big shock at 54:57, made by the 27-year-old Sun Rui, changing the score at 4-3 to seal the victory. China had a good start as veteran Jin Fengling scored the first goal, power playing the puck past Finninsh goal keeper Anna-Kaisa Piiroinen at 14:51 minutes before she added one more in 19:02 assisted by Tang Liang. The Finns found the rhythm as they score two goals in a row to level at 2-2, made by Minnamari Tuominen and Salla Korhonen just 52seconds before the second period ended. China did not lose the ambition in the third period when Jin finished her hat-trick to equal the score at 3-3 after Finland put a shot. |
